Good point. I don't know what the FMDB equivalent would be for Android, but I'd bet there are several good options.

Another thing to consider is the fact that one could prefer SQLite over CoreData because you have an Android or Windows or server app that uses the same SQLite db (so CoreData would mean other work for only one platform).

Dear Byron,

I read your hints about F110 and I would like to add two new tips:)
If several bank accounts exist in a customer or vendor master record, you need to assign different keys for these accounts. When creating multiple FI documents for the same customer/vendor where you got multiple IBAN's or accounts in the master data you have to assign the same Partner Bank Type keys in all documents in order that all overdue documents bto be grouped toghether for payment.

Also...if you use one time vendors/customer and you need to pay at least two invoices of the same customer/supplier you have to make sure every field in the master records is identical ...or will not group them for payment ( you gonna have to make a proposal for each supplier one by one )

Strangely, the SpecialCells property works for Range as opposed to Cells:

private int lastRowForCol(Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Worksheet sh, int col)
        {
            string first = Convert.ToChar(col + 64) + "1";
            string last = Convert.ToChar(col + 64) + "10000";

            Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Range rn = sh.Range[first,last] ;

            int r = rn.SpecialCells(Excel.XlCellType.xlCellTypeLastCell).Row;
            return r;
        }

Thank you, Byron. This is helpful. Which assemblies need to be referenced? For me, Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel does not do the trick yet.

You can also check it through table E071 from transaction SE16, you have to inform the field obj_name with the name of the object you're looking for.

Hi Matthew,

Thanks for the link! Like you said, there are a number of libraries that do a lot more than FMDB. I liked FMDB because it was so lightweight and easy to use. In truth, I could have used an ORM because I found myself populating NSMutableArray's for a lot of my objects. FMDB made that fairly simple, but it would have been even more simple with an ORM.

That said, FMDB has been solid, fast, and simple. So, depending on your need, it might be all you want. Of course, good old CoreData is excellent for 99% of the cases.

Cheers,
Byron
